  8. SNMPAUTH Minutes
  9.  
  10. The Working Group met for one evening to discuss the latest revision of
  11. the documents.  There are currently three documents:
  12.  
  13.  
  14.   1. SNMP Administrative Model - this document specifies a framework
  15.      within which the protocols specified above funtion.
  16.  
  17.   2. SNMP Security Protocols - this document is a combination of what
  18.      was previously the ``Authentication and Privacy'' document and the
  19.      ``Administration'' document.  It completely specifies two
  20.      enhancements to SNMP to support integrity and authentication, and
  21.      integrity, authentication and privacy.
  22.  
  23.   3. SNMP Party MIB - this document specifies a set of experimental MIB
  24.      objects that may be used to support the SNMP administrative model,
  25.      including the SNMP security protocols specified above.

  28. All three documents require some editorial changes, after which they
  29. will be submitted to the Internet-Drafts directory.  The first document
  30. is still pending approval from the IESG. Since the protocol document
  31. depends on the model document, it may not progress to a proposed
  32. standard until the status of the model document is resolved.

  34. The set of slides used to present the administrative model and the
  35. changes to the security protocols are included below.
